In protecting investor interests the Bank of Lithuania, having assessed all available information, has published in its report a list of companies that have no right to provide investment services in Lithuania. According to the Bank of Lithuania, these companies do not meet the criteria for financial services companies, although offer such services and provide possibilities for trading financial instruments.

In addition, the representatives of the Bank of Lithuania remind that there are requirements that need to be complied with by financial organisations wishing to provide investment services in Lithuania permanently and professionally. Such activities may be carried out only by a specific group of entities, including financial brokerage firms holding a licence of a financial brokerage firm issued by the Bank of Lithuania or the supervisory authority of another European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEE) country, credit institutions and financial advisory companies licensed in Lithuania or another EU or EEE country.

The list of companies eligible to provide investment services in Lithuania is published and kept up-to-date on the website of the Bank of Lithuania. The supervisory authority strongly recommends to refrain from using the financial services of non-listed companies.

The report of the Bank of Lithuania can be found here.
