Aircraft leasing and lease novation

The law firm has advised a subsidiary of Castlelake, L.P., a global private investment firm managing fund with approximately $12.8 billion in assets, on purchasing and lease novation of two Airbus A321 family aircraft from a subsidiary of AviaAM Leasing AB.
Both aircraft were on lease to a local airline UAB “Avion Express”. The law firm worked closely with an U.S. law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP (New York and Washington offices) on various aspects of aircraft purchase and lease novation transaction. Finally, the law firm executed certain documents in the name of the client and provided a legal opinion on this complex transaction.
