Dual Citizenship

2 Feb 2018

The law firm proudly assisted the children (currently based in Australia) of a Lithuanian who was born in a refugee camp due to the atrocities which the Lithuanian people had faced during the post-war period.

Lithuanian citizenship is restored for persons who held Lithuanian citizenship before 15th June 1940 and left the Republic of Lithuania due to the danger of persecution before 11th March 1990, as well as for their descendants, not applying the procedure of the renouncement of the citizenship already held.

If any of your ancestors, parents, grandparents, grand-grandparents were born in Lithuania, you may be eligible to obtain a Lithuanian (EU) passport.  We can assist in the whole process from searching for your family's documents  in Lithuania archives, to submitting your application to the Migration Department for a passport or challenge the decisions if the application is dismissed.

If you have any queries regarding the restoration of Lithuanian citizenship, do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail: info@sulijapartners.com
